Travelodge Ashton-under-Lyne

Visitors seeking a cheap place to stay near Manchester should give serious consideration to the Travelodge in Ashton-under-Lyne. This budget hotel opened in 2005 and is situated on the Ashton Moss development, just over 4 miles east of Manchester city centre.

The hotel offers family and double rooms, free car parking, and wireless internet access (fee). A traditional pub, The Sheldon Arms, is adjacent to the hotel and offers reasonably priced food and a good selection of beers.

Ashton Moss offers plenty of leisure facilities including a cinema, bowling alley, and numerous restaurants.

Our room was ok and of the expected standard, clean and tidy, and value for money.
The staff were courteous, helpful and respectful. I would like to thank them all for making our stay relaxed and pleasant.

If you just want to turn up, have a shower and get your head down then I doubt there is a better alternative.

More of less what you'd expect from a Travelodge. Very easy to find and parking was free. The staff could've shown a bit more interest, but they didn't really do anything bad. The room was ok and the bathroom was small but surprisingly clean. For the money I paid I was very impressed to be honest.

We needed somewhere on the last minute and this place was the most convenient. No 5 star hotel, obviously, but it did provide us with a cheap and very comfortable place to sleep for the night. We had a TV and tea and coffee making facilities and there's a handy little pub next door for food and drink.
