Liverpool FC Museum and Tour

Liverpool Football Club is arguably the most successful club in England. The club offers tours of its stadium, Anfield, which include a visit to the dressing rooms and a seat in the team dugouts. The highlight for many, however, is the chance to walk down the famous players’ tunnel and touch the famous ‘This is Anfield’ sign.

The museum features a cinema that shows short films that celebrate memorable events in the club’s history, cabinets displaying their vast haul of trophies and a mass of other memorabilia.

Visitors can take a tour and museum package, or choose just to visit the museum. Advance booking for stadium tours is recommended.

For visitors using satellite navigation, the postcode to enter for Liverpool FC is L4 0TH.

Jan 2008 - The original plans by HKS have been scrapped due to spiralling costs. Revised plans are currently being drawn up by architects HKS and AFL (Manchester). A decision on the final design should be made in the next few weeks.

Liverpool Football Club has unveiled revised plans for their new stadium set to replace Anfield in 2010. The radical redesign by American architects HKS includes an 18,000-seat, single-tier Kop and unique glass-fronted corners providing views into the stadium.

The stadium plans have now reverted to a capacity of 60,000 as originally planned. A new design will however allow it to be expanded in the future. Construction is expected to begin at the end of 2007, with the stadium being complete by the start of the 2010 season.

It was on the news that they've actually now stopped work on the new stadium at Stanley Park because they now want to make it bigger than the 60,000 they originally intended.
