Windermere Lake Cruises

Windermere Lake Cruises is the main boat operator on the lake and offers the following routes:

Cruises operate year-round but are more frequent in the summer.

Schedules are co-ordinated with the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Combination boat and railway tickets are available.

They also provide a service from Ambleside to the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole and a cruise around Windermere’s islands departing from Bowness.

Visitors wishing to travel to the Lakes Aquarium at Lakeside can purchase a combination boat and aquarium ticket.

Children under 5 and well-behaved dogs travel free.

I loved going on the boat across the lake. What a lovely way to see the villages and hillsides. Travel in style to your destinations. It was so relaxing.

There's a large island in the middle of Windermere called Belle Island. It was believed to have been settled by the Romans.
